Workplaces with over 10 employees are required to have a recordkeeping strategy to record serious workplace injuries and illness. Under OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1904, not only does recordkeeping need to take place for serious injuries and illness, but the information must be kept on site for at least five years. With this, employers must post a summary of serious injuries and illnesses for the following year for OSHA review.1
