OSHA has numerous standards that affects laboratory safety including 29 CFR 1910.1450 (Exposure to Chemicals in Labs), 29 CFR 1910.1200 (Hazard Communication), 29 CFR 1910.1000 (Air Contaminants), 29 CFR 1910.1048 (Formaldehyde), 29 CFR 1910.1030 (Bloodborne Pathogens), 29 CFR 1910.147 (LockOut TagOut), 29 CFR 1910.132 (General Requirements - PPE), 29 CFR 1910.133 (Eye and Face Protection - PPE) and 29 CFR 1910.134 (Respiratory Protection - PPE).¹

These micro-learning clips are designed to help learners understand general laboratory safety procedures, what are the proper ppe in laboratory facilities, how to work safely with laboratory equipment, general work practices for laboratory hoods and what are the proper procedures for chemical storage and labeling. A proper safety orientation for laboratories is the necessary beginning to protecting our 500,000 workers employed in those environments daily.
