Many workers have to deal with operating in hot environments both outdoors and indoors. Heat-related illnesses can occur when workers operate on job sites involving high air temperatures, radiant heat sources, high humidity, direct physical contact with hot objects or difficult physical activities. These affected job sites can be anywhere including: bakery, laundries, chemical plants, mining sites and construction sites.1

These micro-learning clips are designed to help learners understand what are the effects of heat in our body, safety guidelines when working in hot environments, what are the heat related illnesses, what are the proper preparations when working in hot environments, how to prevent heat related illnesses and how to properly treat heat related illnesses. Many workers don’t have the luxury to work in an air conditioned office thus making heat stress a required training to teach workers how to prevent illness and even death while working in the heat.
