Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fiber that was used in many materials in the commercial world due to its strength and ability to resist heat and corrosion. After many studies, asbestos has been found to be not only harmful to workers but ultimately deadly being noted to causing cancers and other illnesses. OSHA has three different standards that protect workers from asbestos related hazards including 29 CFR 1910.1001, 29 CFR 1915.1001 and 29 CFR 1926.1101 which are aligned with General Industry, Shipyards and Construction.
