Many workplaces use aerial lifts to move or access products as well conduct their responsibilities at higher elevations from retail to construction sites. Aerial lifts are any vehicle-mounted device used to elevate workers, including but not limited to: extendable boom platforms, aerial ladders, articulating (jointed) boom platforms, vertical towers and any combination of the listed versions. In may workplaces, aerial lifts have been a primary tool, over ladders and scaffolding, in working at higher levels due to their mobility and flexibility. OSHA has several regulations that apply to the use and training of aerial lifts including: 29 CFR 1910.67, 29 CFR 1910.269(p), 29 CFR 1926.21, 29 CFR 1926.453 and 29 CFR 1926.502.¹

These micro-learning clips are designed to help learners understand what are the different types of aerial lifts, what are the hazards when working with aerial lifts, how to properly inspect aerial equipment, how to set up aerial lifts correctly and working with aerial lifts safely. The use of aerial lifts improve productivity greatly with workers but poses great risk and hazards to those around.
